The house on Montecito resides in the oldest and most traditional neighborhood in San Angelo, Santa Rita. This home is close to the century mark in age, and has been updated and maintained well. This grand residence was new to our client, who moved from a Tuscan style home. But all of her furnishings found a place and we filled in the rest with new pieces, fabrics and window treatments.
We renovated the kitchen and it is stunning. The backsplash is a water-jet marble mosaic, honoring the age and traditional style of the home, and formal with it’s black accents. The counters are soapstone and marble. The piece de resistance is a custom designed bar made of walnut. It is a piece of furniture, not a built in, and stands at the entrance of the kitchen from the living and dining rooms. The backsplash is an antiqued beveled mirror tile. There is a wine refrigerator hidden in the lower section.
We especially appreciate our clients’ eclectic style and love for fine art- both modern and traditional. The abstract pieces are unexpected and interesting juxtaposed with the feminine, traditional furnishings and décor. Where this home could have easily felt like a formal “do not touch” space, we aimed for welcoming and cozy, and hit the target. It is livable and lovely.
